Rio Saliceto is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Emilia in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about northwest of Bologna and about northeast of Reggio Emilia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,632 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Rio Saliceto contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Commenda, Osteriola, Cà de Frati, and San Lodovico.
